Valerie Anne Bertinelli (born April 14 in 1970) was an American actor and writer. She is a two-time Golden Globe Award recipient. Her performances in CBS"One Day At A Time's Barbara, and Hot in Cleveland's Melanie Moretti made her a famous household name. Her acting career began as young teens and later on over the years evolved into a seasoned character actress. With a keen interest in entertainment, the Bertinelli chose to go into acting after an acquaintance she made when she was just a child. Bertinelli started her career in television after studying at Tami Lynn School of Artists. With her confident poise and good acting skills she created a niche quickly and soon became the most sought-after TV star. Her rocky personal life was widely known, along with her battles with addiction and other difficulties. But she worked for years to overcome the challenges and get back to her normal living. She is well-known to the general public thanks to her New York Times best-selling books that chronicle her experiences during difficult periods of her life. Presently, the multitalented star hosts the cooking program Kids Baking Championship. The chubby teen turned sexual icon has also been associated as a spokesperson for her Jenny Craig program.
